And we're already into March...

The Olympics took over my life. I had planned to do so much over the reading week, but instead was glued to the TV. It didn’t help that my internet hasn’t been working for the past month (today is the first day it’s worked for more that 10 minutes, yay for viruses). There were nights where I would finish watching the final events of the day, and would then watch hours of re-caps that I had already seen. It was so addictive, and when the closing ceremonies came to an end, I had to go back and face reality. I did not know what to do with myself. But I’m finally returning to normal, with an added love and pride for my country.

Mark March 15th on your calendar because it’s my 21st birthday! The celebration starts on the 12th because of St. Patty’s day at the Wall (and I apologize in advance if you see me). But honestly, the last time I celebrated my birthday was when I was 18 so I’m going to make the most of it this year. I plan on making a cake worthy of Ultimate Cake Off, although I’m prepared for it to end in disaster, as long as it’s edible (but there will be pictures). My parents have taken pity on me and are coming up to buy groceries because I have very little money (food vs. Xbox game always ends with the game winning). On a side note, if anyone has Bioshock 2 and wouldn’t mind lending it for a week or two, send me a note. I can’t even set foot in Wal-Mart anymore because I always end up in the electronics section trying to convince myself that I can manage a couple weeks without food. Oh, and if you are playing Borderlands, I feel the need to warn you that the ending is the biggest disappointment. So weak.

This March is an overall perfect way to end the school year because let’s face it, April is going to be filled with stress, studying, and packing. I highly doubt I will have a social life. The residents’ formal was on Saturday and it was awesome seeing everyone dressed up. I had a laugh at looking all fancy while ordering a Budweiser rather than something more fitting like a cosmo, but hey I’m a valley girl. There’s the SOS Backstage performance from the 19th to the 21st. (My roommate Becky is in it so I feel obligated to mention it). And I’m going to my second concert ever! (Billy Talent). FYI, my first was Garth Brooks, and he was recording that performance for his live album, so yeah I was there and therefor rock hardcore.......... not really.... at all.

Well it’s after 3am due to too many attempts at uploading this (I hate my internet so much), so I’m going to abruptly wrap this up.

Meh, Sunday

My mom saw the house and loved it, I totally lucked out. She also bought me groceries since I’m broke and been living on sidekicks and chef boyardi (I’m still waiting for osap money from first term, it’s been a long and arduous process). I’m surprised she came because she has some sort of throat infection; it isn’t contagious unless you’re stupid and drink from the same water bottle or something.... Yeah guess who was an idiot. I feel okay so far, I just don’t have a voice. I’m hoping that’s just a side effect from last night.

Let’s just say that the night of tight and bright was crazy; I didn’t know when to stop sailing with the captain so I was a mess (I’m legal drinking age, so my adventures are legal). I woke up with the popular “I’m never drinking again” statement, drank 2L of water, and played some Left for Dead on the Xbox. Needless to say nothing was accomplished; I absolutely hate that. I mean I have piles upon piles of laundry, and nothing clean to wear for class tomorrow. But I don’t regret the night; with midterms coming up I’m going to have to hit the books and put my social life on hold. So I guess you could say I went out with a bang.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to hit the gym. When you seriously consider waiting 15+ minutes for a bus so you won’t have to walk a block, something is wrong. I’ve started playing intermural soccer, but it’s three days later and I’m still sore. In my defence I also fell (in a spinning in mid-air kind of move). Usually I snowboard, but this winter has been horrible so far.

I thought I would mention that my friend Josh is up on imdb.com. No he's not famous. Last summer a movie was filmed in my small town ('Deep River The Island', the fact it's a zombie movie is it's only redeeming quality) and he was one of the zombies. It's just hilarious because he didn't put the page up, he actually texted me after someone showed him. I must say that I am very jealous.

First Post

Hey my name is Caitlin and I’m a first year student in the BA honours psychology program. I’ve been meaning to make a blog to enter into the contest, but continually get stuck on the name. I’m from the small town (population 4000) of Deep River. So there’s the idea behind my name, yeah I’m so creative....

I’m not really sure what to write about at the moment, but I guess I’ll jump right in.

I am so excited for tomorrow. My mom is driving up to visit and look at the house I'll be living in next year, so it'll be a full day of catching up. I love rez and its convenience, but come on, a house can't really be beat. Then at the Wall there is the tight and bright with Mstrkrft, and I cannot express my excitement enough! I should mention that I go all out for themes. Last week I put together my outfit and have already worn it. I even found hairspray that glows in black lights, and yes I tried that out too.

I'm sure most people have already heard Mstrkrft's 'Heart breaker' and 'Bounce' (if not it's a quick search on youtube and it's totally worth it), but here's one of my personal favourites :)

Future posts will be more interesting I promise, I'm exhausted from today and just wanted to get something up before the 1st :)
